Two trades. One family name. One uncompromising standard of work.
Before T. McMurray & Sons became a construction company, it was a woodworking shop. Trevor grew up in his father’s workshop – McMurray Woodworking – learning that a family’s reputation is built on honesty and work that lasts.
When Trevor founded the company in 1998, he saw a problem worth solving: premium cottage builds disconnected from the fine millwork inside them. We closed that gap – structural framing and custom cabinetry under one family name, with one eye for precision at every stage.
Today, backed by his wife and working beside his sons, Trevor carries that same standard into every project. Same values. Same family name on the line.
Trevor has spent his career in the trade – not managing from an office, but on-site and in the workshop, personally accountable for every detail.
He holds dual Red Seal certifications in both Carpentry and Cabinetmaking. For those unfamiliar: the Interprovincial Red Seal is Canada’s highest trade certification, achieved by a small fraction of tradespeople nationwide. Holding two is rare.
That dual qualification means the same precise eye that frames your cottage’s structure guides the millwork in your kitchen. It’s not typical on a job site – and it’s exactly why our clients trust us with complex, high-value builds.
Trevor’s sons work beside him daily, absorbing the same structural techniques and values he learned in his own father’s shop.
For clients making significant investments in custom cottages and boathouses, that continuity matters. We’re not here to flip projects. We’re building a company meant to stand for the next thirty years – and to be there for your build long after it’s complete.
Four principles that go into every project we sign our name to.
Straight talk on timelines, budgets, and scope. No hidden change orders, no surprises.
We show up, follow through, and finish. Regional knowledge means we manage Muskoka’s tight building seasons without excuses.
Dual Red Seal precision on every phase - from structural framing into shield rock to millwork fit to 1/32-inch tolerance.
Our family name is on every build. We pour the same care into your cottage as we would into our own home.
We’re not a company that parachutes into the region for a season. Our family lives here, works here, and is known here – and those relationships with local suppliers, inspectors, and tradespeople make every project run better.
From long-standing supplier partnerships to our community involvement, we’re invested in Muskoka the same way our clients are.

Full WSIB coverage and comprehensive liability insurance on every project.
