Custom kitchens, vanities, and millwork – designed and built by hand in our Muskoka workshop.
Every piece we build starts with your space and your life in it – not a catalogue of standard sizes. We design, build, and install custom cabinetry and millwork that fits exactly, functions the way you actually live, and holds up for decades. Solid materials, real joinery, and a finish built for Muskoka. This is cabinetry made the way it used to be.
Before McMurray built homes, it built furniture. Trevor’s father started McMurray Woodworking generations ago, and the craft was handed down the way it always has been – at the bench, one joint at a time.
That lineage is the difference. Most cabinet companies order flat-pack boxes from a factory and screw them together on site. We still build ours by hand, in our own shop, the way Trevor learned from his dad. It’s slower, it’s harder, and it’s the whole point.
The heart of the home, built to fit your space to the millimetre. Solid-wood construction, real joinery, and finishes chosen for daily life on the lake.
Made-to-measure vanities matched to your stone, hardware, and the rest of your home – turning a functional room into a finished one.
Wainscoting, coffered ceilings, mantels, and trim milled to match the space and give a room its character.
Reception desks, retail fixtures, and custom casework built to a commercial standard and timeline.
Live-edge tables, feature stairs, and one-off pieces – the builds that start with “can you make…”.
Kitchen and bath renovations built to last.
Cabinetry made for four-season lake life.
We build faithfully from your drawings.
Reliable millwork on your build schedule.
Casework to a commercial standard.
We start on-site, measuring the real space and understanding how you’ll use it. No assumptions, no standard sizes.
We turn your needs into detailed drawings, so you see layout, proportion, and detail before anything is cut.
Together we choose wood species, hardware, and finishes – the decisions that shape how a piece looks and lasts.
Every piece is built by hand in our Muskoka workshop by a dual Red Seal cabinetmaker. This is where factory boxes and real cabinetry part ways.
We deliver and install ourselves, fitting each piece to your space and finishing every detail on-site.
Big-box cabinets are particleboard boxes shipped flat and assembled on site. We build with solid wood and quality plywood, real joinery, and made-to-measure fit – finished to stand up to Muskoka humidity and decades of daily use. That difference is why custom costs more, and why it lasts.
"In December 2024 we had custom kitchen cabinets designed, built, finished, and installed by McMurray’s Cabinetry Company, including all the hardware. From start to finish, the entire experience exceeded our expectations. The craftsmanship is exceptional, and finishes outstanding. Every cabinet was built with precision and attention to detail, resulting in a beautiful, functional kitchen we absolutely love. If you’re seeking custom cabinetry with top quality materials and strong customer support then give Trevor a call."

This exceptional kitchen renovation is a reflection of thoughtful design, uncompromising craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of the homeowner’s lifestyle. From the earliest stages of planning, we worked closely alongside the family to create a truly bespoke space—one that balances timeless elegance with the demands of everyday living.
Every detail was intentionally considered, from the custom-selected cabinetry color and refined finishes to the carefully proportioned arrangement of doors, drawers, and integrated pull-out storage solutions. A dedicated wine rack and personalized storage features were seamlessly incorporated to enhance both the beauty and functionality of the space.
The result is a kitchen designed without compromise—an elevated, highly personalized environment where form, function, and craftsmanship come together effortlessly. Built around the unique needs of this family, this space represents the enduring quality and meticulous attention to detail that define our custom cabinetry and construction work.

The Muskoka Lakes Public Library custom cabinetry project is a testament to the craftsmanship, precision, and thoughtful design that define our work. Located in the heart of Port Carling, this multi-phase project began in 2019 with the design and construction of the library’s main floor circulating desk, followed by the completion of a second custom desk in 2021.
Each desk was meticulously crafted to improve efficiency, enhance workflow, and create a more welcoming experience for both library staff and visitors. Designed with a refined Muskoka aesthetic, the custom millwork blends timeless materials, elevated detailing, and practical innovation to complement the character of the region while meeting the demands of a modern community space.
From initial design through final installation, every element was carefully considered to deliver durability, functionality, and lasting beauty. This project reflects our commitment to creating exceptional custom cabinetry that elevates public spaces while improving how they serve the communities they support.
"They built our kitchen around our walls, not the other way around. It fits like it was always there."

A dated galley kitchen in a lakeside cottage, opened into a space for a family that cooks together. We built full-height painted cabinetry with a walnut island, integrated appliances, and a hidden pantry — every run scribed to the cottage’s out-of-square original walls. Most projects run 8–14 weeks from approved drawings, depending on scope and finish. We’ll give you a real timeline once the design is set.
Yes. We regularly match existing cabinetry, trim, and finishes so new work blends seamlessly with what’s already there.
We build new. Refacing hides old boxes; we’d rather build cabinetry that lasts decades — and we’ll tell you honestly if your existing boxes are worth keeping.
Absolutely. We build faithfully from a designer’s or architect’s drawings and coordinate directly through the project.
Every project is different, so we’d rather give you a real number after understanding your scope than a generic range that won’t apply.
Yes — we deliver and install everything ourselves, so the fit and finish are held to the same standard as the build.
Every great piece starts with a conversation — no pressure, no obligation.
